Understanding AIDS Self Study
Description:
This program is designed to meet the Kentucky requirement for AIDS education and is approved by the Cabinet for Human Services for all healthcare providers.
Objectives:
- Discuss the epidemiology of HIV/AIDS and the diseases it can cause
- List at least three methods of transmission and prevention of HIV.
- Discuss treatment of HIV/AIDS and medical management of at least three opportunistic diseases.
- Discuss management of HIV in the work environment.
- Review professional, ethical and legal issues surrounding HIV/AIDS.
- Distinguish appropriate attitudes and behaviors towards persons infected with the HIV virus.
- Name at least three comprehensive human services for those with HIV infection.
